During the March 9, 2015 SPPOA Annual Meeting the community elected three new members to serve on your Board of Directors: Clifford Dey, Zachary Curry and Bob Roth. The new members will join Janice Powell and Bob All to compose the five-member Board.
The SPPOA BY-LAWS require that the Board of Directors elect the Officers of the Association. “The election of officers shall take place at the first meeting of the Board of Directors following each annual meeting of the Members” (Article IX, Section 1, 2). The Officers are: President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. That meeting will occur on Monday, April 6, 2015. In addition to electing Officers, there will be an orientation for the new Board members. After Officers are elected, the President will inform the SPPOA Membership regarding the other elected Officers.
The new Board will have its “plate full.” They will need our patience and support as they proceed to do the work of the Association.
Mr. Jim Minor, SPPOA member, will make a presentation dealing with the tax millage rate of the Burton Fire District (our fire district) at the 6 March Beaufort County meeting. Attend if your time and interests permit. See below for time, location, and directions.
BEAUFORT COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION TO MEET
The Beaufort County Legislative Delegation will meet on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in the Bluffton Town Hall, located at 20 Bridge Street, Bluffton, SC. The public comment period will precede the business portion of the agenda.
